At The Guildhall at SMU, we believe it is essential that our Art Creation students continue to hone their fine art skills while attending our program. It is a practice that we have learned from our industry advisors and one that is important in producing the best professional artists for the video games industry.

That’s why we have invited internationally-acclaimed artist and sculptor Frank Porcu to give a 3-hour drawing demonstration on human anatomy. The session will be held on October 23 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Building 3, Room 102, on the SMU-in-Legacy campus (Plano).

Porcu is anatomy instructor at New York Academy of Arts and the Arts Students League and has taught anatomy at the Chelsea Art Program, the BOCES Cultural Arts Center, Grand Central Academy of Art, and the Muttontown School of Fine Arts. Porcu studied with Salvatore Montano and Alfredo Cardenas, earning his BFA from Pratt Institute and his MFA from the New York Academy of Art’s Graduate School of Figurative Art. He is a recipient of the James Amster Memorial Award from the National Arts Club and he has participated in group exhibitions in New York, Long Island, Cortona, and Paris.

The program is free and open to the public, and we would specially like to invite any of your art personnel who would like to attend. Please have them RSVP to me at protectEmail('tricia', 'smu.edu', '@');This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.tricia at smu.edu .
