3D Textures with Reel Fx Artist Daniel Zinck
Daniel Zinck is a texture design artist at Reel Fx who is currently working on a feature film called “Turkeys”, which will be in theaters on November 1, 2013. During this meeting Daniel will be talking about what it is like to work as a texture artist at Reel FX, his process for creating textures from small props to characters, what he looks for when getting reference and textures and what you can look for in your own work to see if it will work or not work in a production environment. Whether textures is your niche or you would like to learn more about what a texture artist does, be sure to be there!
Feel free to bring your work for him to look at and critique. Daniel would rather this meeting be a little more open and have Q&A going on as he is talking about his process and different things, so ask away.
Date: Saturday, March 23, 2013
Time: 10am – noon
Location: 2800 East Spring Creek Parkway, room C-104, Plano, TX 75074
The meeting is free to attend. All are welcome. Memberships Available.
About the instructor:
Daniel Zinck hails from the rolling hills and Amish communities of central Pennsylvania. Growing up on a farm he began to develop a passion for the entertainment industry and as he got older he started to pursue all things creative. Becoming unsatisfied by his surroundings, he decided to pack up everything he could fit in his car and move to Orlando to attend Full Sail University. He attended school with an open-mind and tried to learn as much about the computer animation industry as he could. After graduation he knew there would not be much work in Pennsylvania so he moved to Texas to work at Motus Digital. He later got the opportunity to further pursue his dreams by becoming a Texture Artist Apprentice at Reel FX. He has been at Reel FX for a few years and has worked on a lot of the high profile projects they have produced and that are currently in production.
