A Day of Drawing from Life
October 23, 2010 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
A Day of Drawing from Life at the Dallas Zoo
Attend ABOSG’s monthly meeting at the largest zoological experience in Texas! Saturday, October 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. get together with the area’s top life drawing instructors, animators, and artists to take in the fresh air and the inspiring, exotic creatures. With ninety five acres to explore and thousands of animals, even the most skilled will be sure to go home with something new.
Bring your creativity and drawing supplies for a day of interesting and challenging fun. The Dallas Zoo offers many exhibits including its newest addition, “Giants of the Savanna,” an 11 acre African extravaganza. Other attractions include the Lacerte Family Children’s Zoo and the award-winning Jake L. Hamon Gorilla Conservation Research Center.
Life drawing is arguably the most difficult subject an artist can master. ABOSG has gathered five of Texas’ best to teach, critique, and encourage for this event. Life drawing can be applied to a variety of creative industries, including traditional drawing and painting, animation, modeling, and character art, so all students and professionals have something to gain from attending.
Please purchase tickets in advance at www.abunchofshortguys.org. Space is limited and you don’t want to miss this experience! Ticket price is $15 and includes zoo admission, bottled water, a light snack, drawing instruction, and of course, great social networking.
