Creating an Awesome Portfolio
March 22, 2014 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Portfolio Building
In this lecture you’ll have the opportunity to view the good, the bad, and the ugly of personal reels out there. We will provide guidelines to help you “be among the good”. You will see examples from a list of experienced reels and gain insight into what industry leaders look for as they pick their artists. Join us as we provide you with suggestions for building different types of reels (modeling v.s. animator). Topics for discussion include: content, music selection, and pitfalls to avoid. We will cover various media outlets to maximize your visibility in the industry. We will also discuss details to add that put your resume to the top of the pile.
Following the presentation, each interested participant will be invited to show their current work and we will give individual advice. Students- bring all you believe should be part of your reel (or what you intend to put in your portfolio when you graduate from school) Professionals- those currently looking for work are more than welcome to share their current content. Each participant will be given limited and individual time.
An opportunity will then be given to the participant to come back for a second review session (with many professionals from different industries) in June or July with their updated content.
