Lecroy Studios: Engage with Story

Come join us 6-8pm Friday, April 12th at the LeCroy Center to hear how LeCroy Creative Studios uses storytelling and animation in educational productions for the Dallas County Community College District and beyond. Learn about program and degree opportunities available at Richland College in the animation/VFX/gaming industry with a special presentation from lead faculty.
Michael Coleman, LeCroy Creative Studios creative director, will present a case for the use of story to engage, educate, and entertain audiences. Jacob Birmingham, animation producer, and Lydia Reynolds, art director, will provide an overview of their story-driven collaborative workflow, from prompt, to pitch, to production. The group will discuss the unlikely and fortuitous origins of LeCroy Creative Studios, and the diversity of work their unique positioning allows them to create. They will also discuss future job opportunities and internships. A tour of their facility will be included.
Richland College will provide a glimpse at the Interactive Simulation and Video Game Technology program offered exclusively at Richland among the colleges of the DCCCD. Christopher Curra, coordinator and lead faculty, will highlight the program’s three-pronged approach to art, technology and relationships allowing students to earn a versatile degree aligned with industry needs ensuring employability.
